Longing

My attraction to the Monoprint began when I first witnessed the results that it produced. As the images were pressed, the unpredictable changes in color and events were beyond my imagination. The results in textures and surface effects were unique and could not have been obtained by hand alone or working directly on a surface. These spontaneous moments of rediscovery and excitement led me to work and have sleepless nights.

When I look at fishes and sea life, I see the freedom they possess. As they move and play with such fluidity through the vast, endless ocean, I can't help to think that this is the type of freedom and life that humans might be longing for. A life filled with lightness, freedom with no restrictions and the unpredictable wonders of what tomorrow might bring.
